Fees and Charges 2021

  • We are open year-round from 08.00 – 18.00 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 – 17.00 on Friday.
  • We close for approximately 1 week over Christmas / New Year.
  • Our minimum booking is 2 half-day sessions per week (which can be taken as 2 half days or 1 full day) however we recommend a minimum of 3-4 sessions per week to enable children to fully benefit from the curriculum and to help with settling in.
  • All sessions are subject to availability.  Please see the table below for our session options.
  • Please note that funded hours are available on a “year-round, stretched basis” only.
  • Please note that due to demand for morning sessions, it is not possible to book mornings only

CONSUMABLE CHARGES A “consumables charge” applies to each funded session booked for children aged 3+ (this does not apply to children who received 2 year-old funding/pupil premium). This charge covers snacks, arts & crafts, cookery, gardening, music & movement, and sun-cream. If you do not wish to pay this charge and would like your child to opt out of these activities / services, please contact us to discuss alternatives. Not applicable £1.50 per funded session from 18th February 2019(please note that 1 session = 1 half-day. A full-day at nursery counts as 2 sessions). The consumables charge only applies to funded sessions and not to “paid sessions”.
Discounts / other charges / services
Registration fee (applies to children who pay for some or all of their sessions) £85 (this is non-refundable).
Administration fee (applies to all fully-funded children, except Funded 2’s) £40 (this is non-refundable). Funded 2’s are not required to pay the administration fee.
Snacks We provide healthy snacks throughout the day. Snacks are included in the fees / consumables charge.
Sibling discount We offer a 5% reduction in fees for siblings. Please note that this does not apply to families with funded children. The discount applies to 1 child per family only and only to the weeks when all the siblings attend.
Late collection charge Collection after closing time – a surcharge of £15 per hour or part-hour will apply. Minimum charge £15.
Sundries If nappies, wet wipes, and creams are not supplied, we may charge £2 per session for the days when nappies, etc are not provided.
Sun-cream (April to September inclusive)Ages 3+ From April to September parents MUST apply sun cream before their child comes into the setting. Staff will re-apply a sensitive skin, high factor sun cream to all children on a regular basis on sunny days. This is included in your fees. If your child is allergic to sun-cream, please contact us to discuss.

Early Years funding

  • 2 YEAR-OLD FUNDING (FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN AGED 2): some children aged 2 are eligible for funded childcare. We offer this funding on a “stretched” basis which gives up to 11 funded hours per week for 50 weeks of the year. For information on eligibility, please ask for details or see the websites listed below.
  • UNIVERSAL FUNDING FOR CHILDREN AGED 3-4: all children aged 3-4 are eligible to receive Early Years funding. We offer this funding on “stretched” basis which gives up to 11 funded hours per week for 50 weeks per year.
  • EXTENDED FUNDING FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN AGED 3-4 (for working parents): eligible working families with children aged 3-4 can apply for extended funding (sometimes known as the “30 hours funding”). We offer this funding on “stretched” basis which gives up to 22 funded hours per week for 50 weeks per year. It is the responsibility of parents to apply for this funding and please note that parents need to reconfirm their eligibility throughout the year (council requirement).
  • STRETCHED FUNDING: Please be aware the stretched funding from the government is only for 50 weeks per year and doesn’t include one week at Christmas and the last week of August. Fees will be applicable for the August week.
  • FUNDING FOR CHILDREN AGED 4: Please also be aware that children aged 4 usually receive a reduced number of funded hours in the 2 terms before they start primary school. this is due to the way the council allocates funding.
  • ADDITIONAL HOURS: all funded children can book additional sessions / hours. These will be charged at our standard rates.
  • SESSION AVAILABILITY: We try to be as flexible as possible with our sessions but, due to demand, it is not usually possible to book funded places on a “mornings only” basis. All sessions are subject to availability and there may be a waiting list for popular sessions.
  • FUNDING START DATE: Please note that Early Years funding starts the school term after the child’s 2nd or 3rd birthday and does not, therefore, apply immediately after the child’s birthday.
  • MINIMUM SESSION LENGTH: our session options are shown above. Our minimum session is 4 hours and we cannot register children for shorter sessions. This means for example, that if you receive 11hours of funding per week and you wish to book 3 sessions per week (12 hours in total), your funding will cover 11 hours and you will be charged the normal rate for 1 hour.
  • Please note that due to demand, it is not usually possible to book mornings only.

Payment options

  • We accept payment in cash, by cheque, and by online BACS transfer.
  • We also accept payment through and a variety of Workplace Voucher Schemes including Busy Bees, Care4, Edenred, Co-op, etc.
  • Jack and Jill is a registered provider for the government Tax-free Childcare Scheme. Please ask us for details.
  • Payment by cheques: Please make cheques payable to Saxonbury Road Ltd, Jack and Jill. Returned cheques will be charged for at a rate of £25.00. Due to bank charges, we do not accept cheques for less than £15.00.
  • Payment by online banking / BACS transfer: Please see below for bank account details. Please ensure that your child’s name and the month is given as a reference.

Jack and Jill Terms and Conditions

  • When you register your child at Jack and Jill and / or book sessions for your child, this is a contractual agreement between yourself and the nursery. Nursery fees are payable in accordance with our terms and conditions from this point onwards. Furthermore, you will be subject to giving 8 weeks’ notice in writing should you wish to reduce your child’s hours, withdraw your child from the nursery or cancel your registration / booking. The 8-week notice period begins from the date you register your child.
  • A Registration/ Administration fee of £85 is payable at the time of registration to secure a place for your child. A reduced fee of £40 applies to fully-funded children. This fee is non-refundable once your child has been registered.
  • Fees for hours booked are fixed and are payable whether your child attends or not.
  • Invoices will be sent out by email one week in advance of the month for which the invoice is due. Please kindly note that all fees will be payable by the first of the month. Please ensure that we have an up-to-date email address for you.
  • The person / persons named on the registration form as responsible for payment has/have entered into a contract with the nursery and are liable for payment of fees. Failure to pay may result in loss of place and court action if necessary.
  • If the primary person named as responsible for payment of fees, does not pay fees on time, the secondary person named as responsible for fees will become liable.
  • Extra sessions are subject to availability. Please contact us to check availability. Extra sessions are usually available in the school holidays.
  • Hot lunches can be booked for a minimum of 4 weeks at a time and should be requested at least 3 weeks in advance. A notice period of 3 weeks is required should you wish to cancel hot lunches for the following month. Please note that notice must be given in writing.
  • Any adjustments to your invoice such as extra hours will be invoiced separately on the following month’s invoice.
  • If a reminder letter is sent out to you, you will incur a £10.00 charge plus an administration charge of £10 for each week for which the fees are late. Returned cheques will incur an administration charge of £25.
  • We may not accept a child at the nursery in the case of late payment.
  • We regret that days off due to illness and holiday must be paid for as a place has been reserved for your child.
  • The nursery is closed for approximately 1 week for Christmas / New Year. Fees are not charged for any sessions missed during the Christmas / New Year holiday. Fees will be charged as normal for any other sessions missed due to additional holiday or due to illness, etc. Please notify the nursery of your holiday plans at least 4 weeks in advance.
  • The nursery is closed on bank holidays / public holidays. Any funded hours “lost” due to a public holiday cannot be refunded / re-claimed, etc. You will not be charged for any “paid hours” missed due to bank / public holidays unless this is an exceptional “one-off” holiday for national events etc.
  • We make every effort to stay open and offer a full service to all our children and parents. If however, the directors and management decide that the nursery has to close for reasons beyond our control such as snow, ice, flood, power-cut, industrial action, major health & safety issues, high levels of sickness, closure recommended by the local council or by other government authorities, etc, no refunds will be due. In such cases, we will make every effort to minimise the closure period and to notify you in advance.
  • Please notify us as soon as possible if your child will be absent from nursery for any reason as we are required by Ofsted to log all absences and follow-up any unexplained absence.
  • You may be required to keep your child off nursery if they have contracted an infectious disease, have been in contact with a person with an infectious disease or if they have been required to isolate by Track and Trace or any similar authority such as your GP, Public Health England, NHS, etc.
  • We ask parents, children and households to adhere to all current government guidelines regarding social distancing, self-isolation, etc which are designed to minimise the spread of infectious diseases such as Covid-19. If the nursery becomes aware of any breach of such guidelines, your child may be unable to attend nursery for a period of time as this may put other children, parents, staff, etc at risk.
  • Our key nursery policies are displayed in the entrance hall and we ask all parents to read these and contact us if they have any questions. These policies and all our other policies and procedures are also available by email on request.
  • Please ensure that you have read our privacy policy. Jack and Jill Nursery will only use your / your child’s personal information to provide a childcare service. The nursery will use your personal details to send you information about your child and about the nursery by email / phone / Family messaging system. The nursery will keep your information secure and will never share it unless required to do so by law or on the request of the local authority and / or health trust and only where such authorities have legitimate reasons for gathering the data.
  • The nursery will send you invoices and other important updates and information by email or via the Family app. It is therefore essential that the nursery has an up-to-date email address for you.
