Jack and Jill Nursery, Corfe Mullen

Well-established day nursery for children from 3 months.

Welcome to Jack and Jill Nursery

Jack and Jill Nursery has been providing high-quality childcare and early education in the heart of Corfe Mullen since 1970.

We welcome babies, toddlers and pre-school children from three months to five years old. Our experienced and caring practitioners get to know every child as an individual, helping them to feel safe, happy and confident while supporting their learning and development.

Our nursery

Our bright and spacious nursery is arranged into three rooms:

  • Ducklings Baby Unit for babies from approximately three months to two years;
  • Squirrels Toddler Room for children aged approximately two to three years;
  • Hedgehogs Pre-school Room for children from approximately three years until they start school.

Each room provides age-appropriate activities, resources and routines, allowing children to develop at their own pace.

New for 2026: air conditioning has been installed in the nursery’s main areas, helping us keep cool!

Learning and development

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and is based around children’s individual interests, experiences and stages of development.

Children learn through a balance of child-led play, carefully planned activities, stories, songs, creative experiences, physical play and everyday conversations. We encourage children to explore, make choices, develop independence and enjoy learning.

Each child has a named key person who takes a particular interest in their care, development and emotional wellbeing and provides an important point of contact for parents and carers.

Outdoor play—whatever the weather

Outdoor play is an essential part of nursery life and we encourage our children to spend as much time as possible outside in the fresh air exploring, learning and playing.

We have two secure outdoor play areas. Our larger garden offers space for energetic physical play, digging and planting, sand and water activities, construction, stories and imaginative play. Our smaller enclosed garden allows babies and toddlers to enjoy outdoor experiences close to their rooms.

Working with families

We value close partnerships with parents and carers and share information regularly through conversations and Famly.

We welcome children from a wide range of backgrounds and aim to provide an inclusive environment in which every child is valued. Where a child has additional needs, we work closely with their family and relevant professionals, subject to our ability to meet those needs safely and appropriately.

We are open throughout the year:
