Next to you, your child’s first teacher / practitioner plays the strongest role in fostering an early love of learning.
We are delighted that all the staff from Jack and Jill Playgroup have decided to continue at the Jack and Jill nursery under the management of Anne-Marie Carter. All the practitioners at Jack and Jill Nursery have been carefully selected and they are all qualified and experienced. All our staff share a common commitment to your child’s safety and well-being and a respect for your child’s desire to learn, play and develop.
At Jack and Jill Nursery we run a Key Worker system. This means that your child will be allocated a Key-worker teacher who is responsible for planning, development and record-keeping for your child. Your child’s key-worker will be your main point of contact regarding your child’s progress and development.
For children aged 2, we have a staff:child ratio of 1:4 and for children aged 3-5, we have a staff:child ratio of at least 1:8. This ratio increases to 1:2 during school trips (this ratio may included “parent–helpers”).
All members of staff have Safer Recruitment checks carried out prior to commencing work. These checks include DBS checks, medical suitability checks, a rigorous interview, thorough reference checks and a carefully assessed probation period.
All our staff are required to carry out the relevant Safeguarding training and have a current First Aid Certificate. At least 75% of our staff have paediatric first aid training.
All staff are encouraged to carry out training as part of their Continuing Professional Development and the company actively supports staff training and development.
